About the Riders

Riders begin their journey at HEARTS TRC with an initial evaluation to determine their abilities, strengths, and modality of learning (auditory, visual, hands on). Then, a specific horse is assigned according to size and motion that best suit the needs of the rider, as well as the number of volunteers that are needed to assist the rider. A day and time is given and the student is paired with an instructor.

The HEARTS TRC instructors set individual goals which are met in weekly lessons to improve posture, balance, focus, concentration, and life skills. Outcomes have shown that through the teaching of horsemanship skills astride, in the barn, and in ground lessons, the individual's quality of life improves at home, in school, and the work place.

In addition to weekly private and group lessons, HEARTS TRC has a curriculum for school, community, and at-risk groups, as well as working with our Wounded Warriors. These curriculum meet educational standards and provide a unique way to learn educational skills outside the classroom.

About the Staff

Our equine staff is specifically selected according to size, movement, and disposition to meet the specific needs of our clients, whether working astride or from the ground. They have gone through training to work with children and adults who have physical, mental, and emotional challanges.

HEARTS Therapeutic Riding Center was established in 2011 and is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit. We are a member center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH INTL}. All of our instructors have gone through PATH Intl training and testing to be certified instructors.

The program is located at Rolling Seas Farm in Egg Harbor Township, with 13 acres in the country including a 9 stall barn, two lesson rings, a round pen for ground lessons, a tactile sensory trail, and over 200 acres of county park out the back for trail lessons. A great place to learn and experience nature.
